The Dinosaur Encyclopaedia
The Dinosaur Encyclopaedia is HyperWorks flagship program, and has been produced in a variety of formats for more than 10 years, with regular yearly updates to include both new and expanded features as well as the 20-30 new dinosaurs discovered each year.
Features
- An entry for each named genus of dinosaur and Mesozoic bird (currently 1062) that includes a summary section containing the name derivation, geological time span, size, location, species list, comments and illustration where appropriate, followed by a highly detailed section including all species, and for each species a list of known individual specimens with a description of each and the formation and location where it was found.
- A section on the various clades ("families") with definition, diagnosis, distribution, comments and list of member species.
- A section with more than 100 of the better known dinosaur locations world-wide, with information on the geology and lists of all vertebrate species found in each location.
- A section with more than 250 species of footprint taxa.
